Muay Thai Fitness Kickboxing
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are right.”
What is Muay Thai?
Muay Thai is a style of kickboxing that originated in Thailand. It is often referred to as the science eight limbs, as it incorporates punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. Due to their intense training, Muay Thai practitioners are some of the fittest athletes in the world. All of the sport’s movements require use of the entire body. The power comes from the body’s core, as well as the quality of technique used; the size of the athlete is secondary.
What is a Kettlebell?
We incorporate Kettlebell training into our workout too! Originating in Russia, a kettlebell is a centuries-old training tool that looks like a cannon ball with a handle. It is thought that the original kettlebells were actually counter-weights used in Russian markets. Country folk started testing their strength with them and eventually they became very popular in Russia as a training method, and still are to this day.
What makes our classes unique?
What’s unique about our Muay Thai classes is the use of Kettlebell’s in our workouts. Kettlebell Fitness training is different than other forms of weight training because many parts of the body are exercised simultaneously. Our certified instructors use kettlebell training to elevate the heart rate for effective cardiovascular training, while getting the strength training all at the same time. Great for an effective, powerful warm up.
